I scored the music for the Inyathelo Philanthropy Awards, which took place on Tuesday 5th November at a gala dinner at the City Hall, Cape Town.

Filmmaker Marisa van Jaarsveld had this to say about my contribution:

His work blew me away right from the start of the project … he is able to accurately express humour, melancholy, hope or anything else, at lightening speed. He is truly a gifted artist.

Our task was to create 8 short films of the awardees, with a wide variety of emotional contexts. These included

  • the zany, jawdropping skill of the kids of the Zipzap Circus (Victoria Nel).

  • the guileless (and hilarious!) campaigning of Afeefah Patel (8), singular Rhino protectorette.

  • the heart-rending abandonment of children of the Lungisani Indlela Village (Tich and Joan Smith),

  • the joy of children being brought to health by Mavis Mathabatha of Sedikong sa Lerato and her Moringa feeding project,

  • the dignity of a lifetime of philanthropy (James McGregor).
