1. the photographic technique of a sequence of frames at set intervals to record changes that take place slowly over time. When the frames are shown at normal speed the action seems much faster.

Timelapse on Evolution Media (EMM465) is a set of immersive, thoughtful, mesmeric pulses and rhythmic soundscapes, full of momentum and atmosphere.

It is a complimentary set to the recent “Afro-Timelapse”, composed over a similar period, and more internationalist in flavour.

Full but not overly dominating musical patterns provide momentum and alluring atmosphere while still allowing space for dialog.

A wide array of instruments was used including pan drum, acoustic and electric (and e-bow) guitars, marimba, dulcimer, laud and piano, interwoven with gentle and organic electronica.

Several tracks feature long-time collaborator Ronan Skillen on tabla, percussion and didgeridoo.
