I am very happy to announce that “Dialects Of Longing”, a collection of spoken indigenous soundscapes, is now available. Over this last year I have had the privilege to curate and set to music some significant conversations associated with the celebrated cinematic documentary “The Wisdom Of Trauma”, featuring author and trauma activist Dr. Gabor Maté.
WOT filmmakers Maurizio and Zaya Benazzo of Science And Nonduality have been marvelously supportive of this project, and generously allowed me to use several key conversations that they and others conducted. Every one of the participants are eloquent luminaries, bringing to the fore issues of climate, the ghosts of the colonial past, and the urgent need for a new way of being in our chaotic and fractured world. They have all been generous beyond expectation in allowing me to use their voices in this venture.
Ancient and indigenous traditions and their contemporary expressions are resurgent, and call us to listen and to listen deeply. It is hoped that the voices making up “Dialects Of Longing” can be engaged wholeheartedly by all intent on reconnecting with this Earth, reconciling with one another, and actively healing the various traumas of the 21st century, not least those of indigenous cultures.
